DIY: Hand-Sew Fashion Top #NYFW
/Everyone knows that you have to be fabulously fashionable for NYFW! Not wanting to spending $$ on a completely new outfit for the shows, I decided to make a shirt that was inspired from a photo on IG. So with a little thread, some scissors, an $8 button up and a $1 sweater I created this top! (Be sure to click the link at the bottom to see how it was done)

N Y F W in a flash!
/One of the most anticipated weeks in fashion and I had a front row seat to all the action. Thanks to Jess (my boss) I was able to attend AMCONYC's NYFW. AMCONYC is one of the top platform for emerging designers during NYFW. Designers such as Ane Amour, Eva Michelle, Kreyol, KUR Collection + many more, hit there runways this year.
T H E E X P E R I E N C E: Let me tell you, I've been to Mercedes Benz NYFW before, and although it is something that I wanted to check off my bucket list, not being a VIP or behind the scenes makes the overall experience average. My seats were decent, the show was a matter of seconds, and after, everyone was fidgeting to get out or closer to the runway for pics, thus shoving my little behind. At AMCONYC's Fashion Week, although smaller, media guests were treated to complimentary coffees and snacks sponsored by Dunkin Donuts.
When check in time came, I was directed to the tables, where my coat could be checked (didn't do it, don't trust people, lol) and was personally escorted to my front row seat! Although I was excited inside, I kept my composure as if this is what I experienced all the time.
On top of the special treatment, I was able to meet some pretty awesome people. One being Alessandra, an inspiring fashion student from ATL now living in the big apple! (Check out her blog!)
Alas, the week was over and I was going back to Jersey where the only 'special' treatment I get is being passed the remote. Until next time NYFW!

#OOTD: Little red, no riding, boots!
/
S T A T E M E N T: Red is a color that always makes a statement. I spotted these little red thangs in October and had my mind set on buying, but of course it didn't happen right away. Whenever I go shoe shopping I always try to stay away from colors that I already have; always want my shoe self to look like the rainbow. It wasn't until this summer that I realized that it's okay to have 4 pairs of black heels, especially if they're different styles. So I decided to branch out. I knew that I had my red mary janes, my red gladiator heels, but I never thought of buying a red boot! Red always makes a statement, but sometimes that statement can be overbearing. So I kept this outfit simple, pairing the booties with medium wash denim overalls, a white tee and a soft gray sweater. To accessorize, I stuck with rings, a bookbag, and statement necklace.
