Do it yourself customized leather jacket

IMG_7737.jpg

I have been in love with paint on clothing for quite some time. I had already previously done paint on my denim jacket, and thought why not create a customized leather jacket with paint and studs! This project was so exciting to see come to life. Between painting on the roses and hammering (yes, I used a hammer) the studs on, I can really say that I'm proud of my masterpiece. Maybe next time I'll do roses all over!

What you'll need for this customized leather jacket!

Staying healthy with a picky palette

IMG_7299.jpg

As a girl with a fast metabolism and a picky palette, it's hard for me to get the adequate nutrition that my body needs. After a not so pleasant doctor's visit I decided it was  time to really change my diet and get serious about my health! Here's how I'm staying healthy daily. For as long as I can remember, I've been on the skinnier side, and although many people would see that as a blessing it was a MAJOR insecurity in my life. Wanting to fill out my frame, I started to eat every and anything in college. My diet consisted of double bacon cheeseburgers, Chinese food, quesadillas, chicken cheesesteaks with curly fries and subway! Not healthy in any way, but I was set on that diet because it kept my weight in the areas I wanted it to be.Two years later, my body is kicking me for it, so I'm making this change. But with my picky palette that consists of sweet foods and carbs I really didn't know how I was going to get all the nutrients I needed.staying healthy My mom stumbled across a kale smoothie recipe that was packed with fruits and vegetables and surprisingly I love it. This recipe has several vitamins and nutrients, from the kale, which is filled with all the good stuff your immune system needs, to the spinach and fruits. I'm able to get a lot of what I need daily while satisfying my tastebuds.Ooh, and on the days where I'm looking to get some extra protein (aka some extra weight to my thighs and butt) I add a spoonful of peanut butter. BEWARE it can make the Smoothie a little heavy so I would suggest eating  it between meals.

Kale, Spinach & Fruit Smoothie:

  • 1-1.5 cup of a kale and spinach mix
  • 1/2 cup of mixed fruits (mangos, peaches, pineapples and grapes)
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tablespoons of greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of orange juice

staying healthy staying healthyThis smoothie (without the peanut butter) is very light. I usually have it with my breakfast. I've noticed that I have more energy throughout the day, my food is digesting better and my skin is fairly clear! You can always amend the recipe to your liking but trust me when I say I could drink these things everyday for the rest of my life! Let me know if you try this recipe.Xoxo,

Do-it-Yourself Fashion Inspired Phone Cases

IMG_7048-2.jpg

I have a habit of always wanting to change my phone cases but never wanting to invest in 20 of them. This simple DIY allowed me to create Fashion Inspired Phone Cases that I can switch up whenever I like! Wanna give it a try? Then keep reading! What I love about this DIY is you only need one clear case. There's endless possibilities of designs that you can switch out at any time! Ooh and not to mention I made 3 cases for $15! Enough talking though let's get down to business. (Link to video is below!)FASHION INSPIRED CASES

Things you'll need for your Fashion Inspired Phone Cases:

Step One:

You can use any design you like, but I wanted something unique. I used a web based site called Pixlr (similar to Photoshop). Within Pixlr I adjusted the measurements to mimic an Iphone 6s (750 x 1334). One your measurements are set you'll want to remove the background for each item and print them separately.fashion inspired phone cases fashion inspired phone cases fashion inspired phone cases

Step Two:

In terms of printing, adjust the paper size to 3 x 5, this will ensure that the design is printed in the appropriate size for and Iphone. I printed the wording and the grids onto the transparent labeling paper. For the background images, I printed them on white printer paper.

Step Three:

Measure the sheet protector to the Iphone and cut out the shape. Once the items are cut out lay them on the sheet protector and secure them with glue if needed. The items that are printed on the labels won't need any glue.fashion inspired phone cases fashion inspired phone cases fashion inspired phone cases

Step Four:

After the items are secured onto the sheet protector, you can insert the protector into the phone case. Snap it on your phone and it will secure itself!fashion inspired phone casesfashion inspired phone casesThe sheet protectors are perfect for this project because they're thin and fit nicely within your phone case. They also allow you to create several designs and switch them out whenever you like! If you'd like to see a tutorial on how to create these cases check out my latest upload on my Youtube Channel.Xoxo,
