Channeling my inner 17 year old; Back to School we go!

Now let's be real, when we were younger, we weren't actually excited about the beautiful, freedom of summer ending when Back to School season came around. It was the excitement in having an excuse to get of bunch of new things that you already had!New clothes, new shoes, new pens, papers and notepads; NEW EVERYTHING! That's what makes Back to School season so fun, and I was not about to miss out just because I graduated!

Cute Notebooks check |Aren't these just the cutest! I think in addition to all my other addictions, I have a cute notebook addiction! I'm always looking for excuses to buy them! Good quotes, bold colors or pretty much whatever, I'll buy them just for the fun of it! These cute notebooks are by Graphique! If you want pens and other fab supplies then they are the go to!The 1st slay of school FIT check | Being that I'm not in high school anymore, I had to take a 24 year old dress and make is appropriate for school! An off the shoulder bodycon dress, with some old skool vans, nerdy pink glasses and afrolicious pin; a night outfit turned juvenile!

A Rare Desert Goddess | Nature Inspired Look

When I think beautiful faux locs I think Lisa Bonet, Megan Good, Lauryn Hill, Eva Pigford, Shakira, Erykah Badu and so many more! Beautiful goddesses that wear the lovely locs well. So naturally I had to create a look inspired off of this natural style!My homegirl Jackie, installed my beautiful crochet faux locs and I instantly fell in love. In love with the hair, the look but most importantly in love with myself more. Natural hairstyles remind me to find beauty in the being a naturalista, and the confidence to rock a style that isn't 'typical' or well received by society.For this simple, earthy look I wanted to focus on basics and the natural elements that God has given us here on earth. Rihanna never fails me when it comes to her fashion looks and I loved the pattern play, bright colors and boldness of her looks in this video so I just had to recreate it for myself.So for the pricing, Boohoo has now taken up a special place in my heart. If you read the previous post Sugar Plum Fairy, then you should know that I'm not really with shopping in stores anymore and thanks to boohoo I can still find the cutest items and a ridiculous price! The top featured in this look was purchased for $4. Boohoo had a crazy 60% sale (including sale items), so I went ham!I decided to let the top be the star of this look so I paired it with my DIY fishnet biker shorts, mustard Lola Shoetique heels and my other special online shopping place, Amazon glasses!

Sugar Plum Fairy with some swag

I was tapping into my inner fairy, inner SZA with some swag! This all white sheer look was put together for CURLFEST, a festival that appreciates the beauty within natural hair! For more details on this look, keep reading!I have come to the conclusion that retail stores no longer have my back! It seems as if every time I need a simple item, I cannot find it in a store. So I knew that for CURLFEST I wanted to rock an all white outfit with my pink vans! After browsing on Pinterest I came across the idea of biker shorts with a mesh top! Something girly, but with a little flair. Mesh tops seem like they're easy to find right? WRONG! I was in the mall for 2.5 hours and found absolutely nothing, NOTHING! So where the shopping world failed me, my creativity kicked in!Quick trip to Joann's, some scissors , ribbon and a sewing machine, and wah la, I created the perfect top that I was looking for!
